What You’ll Do

  • Help to conceive, design and bring to production different UAV projects.

  • Designing and developing the structural components of our UAVs in collaboration with other engineering groups and departments.

  • Use software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for complex projects.

  • Incorporate feedback into 3D model designs

  • Optimization construction with CFD and FEA analysis

  • Perform Finite Element Analysis(FEA) & Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Analysis

  • Test Support and Documentation

  • Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies

  • Generate aerodynamic data required to support other systems like Flight controls, avionic systems, etc. 

  • Perform CFD analyses of UAVs to evaluate aerodynamic performance.  

  • Prepare geometry for CFD analyses from CAD geometry. 

  • Utilize large databases of material property information to best select materials for modeling

  • Certification Support and Documentation

Who You are

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in  mechanical and structural design. 

  • Having good experience in a CAD system is a must (Solidworks, CATIA etc. )

  • Demonstrated knowledge of complex subassemblies or full systems over at least 3 product programs (concept, prototype, validation, production)

  • Candidates must have strong fundamentals in the following areas: Aerodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics and Turbulence models. 

  • Experience with composite structural design is preferred

  • Working experience with  Ansys mesh/ICEM CFD, Ansys Fluent , XFLR5

  • Knowledge in applying appropriate FOS and margin to safety critical application (design margin tables, structural joint calculations)

  • Experienced creating high fidelity mathematical system models (Matlab, Python, MathCAD, Excel) 

  • Knowledge of Matlab/Python is preferred.

  • Experienced design to aerospace or automotive level validation standards
